The '''Olonka''' ({{langx|ru|Олонка}}, {{langx|krl|Anuksenjogi}}) is a river in the [Republic of Karelia, Russia](/source/Republic_of_Karelia%2C_Russia). It gave the name to the town of [Olonets](/source/Olonets) by the river and eventually to the surrounding territory ([Olonets Governorate](/source/Olonets_Governorate), Olonets [Krai](/source/Krai), now [Olonetsky District](/source/Olonetsky_District)). It flows out of the lake {{ill|Utozero|ru|Утозеро (озеро, Карелия)}} and discharges into [Lake Ladoga](/source/Lake_Ladoga). It is {{convert|87|km}} long, and has a [drainage basin](/source/drainage_basin) of {{convert|2620|km2}}.<ref name=gvr>{{GVR|153170|Река Олонка}}</ref>

The 1906 Russian ''Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary'' writes that Olonka flows from [Lake Topornoye](/source/Lake_Topornoye), through lakes [Vagvozero](/source/Vagvozero), [Utozero](/source/Utozero) and [Torosozero](/source/Torosozero), and eventually to [Lake Ladoga](/source/Lake_Ladoga).<ref name=efron/> The section between Topornoye and Utozero is now referred to as {{ill|Topornaya|ru|Топорная}} (Топорная).<ref>{{GVR|153171|Река Топорная (Блуассей)}}</ref><ref>[http://ktmz.boom.ru/library/wwte/kar10/south/eladoga.html "Tourist Water Encyclopedia. Most important tributaries are [Megrega](/source/Megrega) (by Olonets) and {{ill|Tuksa River|lt=Tuksa|ru|Тукса (река)}} rivers.<ref name=gvr/><ref name=efron>{{cite Efron|Олонка}}</ref>
