In 2019 he spent time on loan from [Huddersfield](/source/Huddersfield_Giants) at the [Leigh Centurions](/source/Leigh_Centurions) and the [Batley Bulldogs](/source/Batley_Bulldogs) in the [Championship](/source/RFL_Championship), as well as [Workington Town](/source/Workington_Town) in [League 1](/source/RFL_League_One). ## Background Russell was born in [Oldham, England](/source/Oldham%2C_England). Russell played his junior amateur rugby for Oldham Saint Anne's, spending some time at Wigan St Judes.
