The '''Old Public Library''' is a historic library building in [Lawrence, Massachusetts](/source/Lawrence%2C_Massachusetts).  The Richardsonian Romanesque structure was built in 1892 to a design by [George G. Adams](/source/George_G._Adams_(architect)), a leading architect of public buildings in New England.  The building is predominantly brownstone, with terracotta trim bands, an irregular and asymmetric massing with a tower, and its entrance recessed in an archway.  It served as Lawrence's public library until 1973 when [a new library building](/source/Lawrence_Public_Library_(Massachusetts)) was built.<ref name=MACRIS>{{cite web|url=https://mhc-macris.net/details?mhcid=law.81|title=MACRIS inventory record for Lawrence Old Public Library|publisher=Commonwealth of Massachusetts|access-date=2014-01-04}}</ref>
