# Old Appleton Bridge

**Old Appleton Bridge** is a historic [Pratt Truss Iron Bridge](/source/Truss_bridge) located at [Old Appleton](/source/Old_Appleton,_Missouri), [Cape Girardeau County](/source/Cape_Girardeau_County,_Missouri) and [Perry County, Missouri](/source/Perry_County,_Missouri). It was built in 1879, and consists of a wrought iron, pin-connected, Pratt through truss main span, with two pin-connected, three panel Pratt pony-truss approach spans. It rests on [limestone](/source/Limestone) block masonry piers. The total length of the bridge is 161 feet (49 m).[2]: 5–6

It was listed on the [National Register of Historic Places](/source/National_Register_of_Historic_Places) in 2009.[1]
