**Odean Fabian Smith** (born 1 November 1996) is a Jamaican [cricketer](/source/Cricket). He made his international debut for the [West Indies cricket team](/source/West_Indies_cricket_team) in April 2018.[1]

## Domestic and T20 franchise career

Smith made his [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) debut on 16 January 2015 in the [2014–15 Regional Super50](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_Regional_Super50) tournament.[2] He made his [Twenty20](/source/Twenty20) debut for [Jamaica Tallawahs](/source/Jamaica_Tallawahs) in the [2017 Caribbean Premier League](/source/2017_Caribbean_Premier_League) on 8 August 2017.[3] He made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for Jamaica in the [2017–18 Regional Four Day Competition](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_Regional_Four_Day_Competition) on 7 December 2017.[4]

In May 2018, Smith was selected to play for the [Trinidad and Tobago national cricket team](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_cricket_team) in the Professional Cricket League draft, ahead of the 2018–19 season.[5][6] In November 2019, he was named in Trinidad and Tobago's squad for the [2019–20 Regional Super50](/source/2019%E2%80%9320_Regional_Super50) tournament.[7]

In June 2020, Smith was selected by [Jamaica](/source/Jamaica_national_cricket_team), in the players' draft hosted by [Cricket West Indies](/source/Cricket_West_Indies) ahead of the 2020–21 domestic season.[8] In July 2020, he was named in the [Guyana Amazon Warriors](/source/Guyana_Amazon_Warriors) squad for the [2020 Caribbean Premier League](/source/2020_Caribbean_Premier_League).[9][10]

In November 2021, Smith was selected to play for the [Dambulla Giants](/source/Dambulla_Giants) following the players' draft for the [2021 Lanka Premier League](/source/2021_Lanka_Premier_League).[11] In February 2022, he was bought by the [Punjab Kings](/source/Punjab_Kings) in the [auction](/source/List_of_2022_Indian_Premier_League_personnel_changes) for the [2022 Indian Premier League](/source/2022_Indian_Premier_League) tournament.[12] He is bought by [Gujarat Titans](/source/Gujarat_Titans) to play in the [IPL 2023](/source/2023_Indian_Premier_League) season for INR. 50 Lakh in the [IPL auction](/source/List_of_2023_Indian_Premier_League_personnel_changes) held on 23 December 2022.[13]

## International career

In December 2015, Smith was named in the [West Indies’ squad](/source/2016_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup_squads) for the [2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2016_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup).[14]

In March 2018, Smith was named in the West Indies squad for their [Twenty20 International](/source/Twenty20_International) (T20I) series [against Pakistan](/source/West_Indian_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2017%E2%80%9318).[15] He made his T20I debut for the West Indies against [Pakistan](/source/Pakistan_national_cricket_team) on 2 April 2018.[16]

In November 2021, Smith was named in the West Indies' [One Day International](/source/One_Day_International) (ODI) and [Twenty20 International](/source/Twenty20_International) (T20I) squads for their series [against Pakistan](/source/West_Indian_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2021%E2%80%9322).[17] In December 2021, he was named in the West Indies' ODI squad for their series [against Ireland](/source/Irish_cricket_team_in_the_West_Indies_in_2021%E2%80%9322).[18] He made his ODI debut on 8 January 2022, for the West Indies against [Ireland](/source/Ireland_cricket_team).[19]
