**Obsidian Ridge** is a volcanic mountain ridge in northwestern [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), [Canada](/source/Canada), located on the south side of [Artifact Creek](/source/Artifact_Creek) at the southeast end of [Mount Edziza Provincial Park](/source/Mount_Edziza_Provincial_Park). It was named on January 2, 1980 by the [Geological Survey of Canada](/source/Geological_Survey_of_Canada) for its high quality [obsidian](/source/Obsidian). Because of its high obsidian content, it was a source for tool making by the local [Tahltan](/source/Tahltan) people.[1]
