# Obe Geia

**Obadiah "Obe" Geia** (born 12 February 1989, in [Townsville](/source/Townsville), [Queensland](/source/Queensland)) is an Australian professional [rugby league](/source/Rugby_league) footballer who has played in the 2000s. He played for the [North Queensland Cowboys](/source/North_Queensland_Cowboys) in the [National Rugby League](/source/National_Rugby_League) (NRL), as a .[2]

While attending [Kirwan State High School](/source/Kirwan_State_High_School) he played for the [Australian schoolboys](/source/Australian_schoolboys) side, and was the team's top try-scorer on the 2006 tour of Great Britain.[2][3][4] He went on to play two matches for the [North Queensland Cowboys](/source/North_Queensland_Cowboys) in the NRL, becoming the first person from the Aboriginal community of [Palm Island](/source/Palm_Island,_Queensland) to do so. An annual schoolboy rugby league tournament is held on Palm Island in his name.[5][6]
