'''Nuvali''' (stylized in [all caps](/source/all_caps)) is a [planned community](/source/planned_community) designed as an [eco-city](/source/eco-city) by [Ayala Land](/source/Ayala_Land). A combination of commercial, residential, recreational, and educational developments, it covers the cities of [Cabuyao](/source/Cabuyao), [Calamba](/source/Calamba%2C_Laguna), and [Santa Rosa](/source/Santa_Rosa%2C_Laguna) in the province of [Laguna](/source/Laguna_(province)) in the Philippines.

==History==
The site of what is now Nuvali was under a hacienda owned by the Yulo family since 1948. The {{convert|7100|ha|acre|adj=on}} estate was developed into a sugar plantation. The farmers have demanded [agrarian reform](/source/agrarian_reform) over the years, portions of which has been repurposed into commercial developments by Yulo-affiliated corporations and partners.<ref>{{cite news |last1=Umali |first1=Justin |title=One hundred years of struggle in Hacienda Yulo |url=https://www.bulatlat.com/2021/01/31/one-hundred-years-of-struggle-in-hacienda-yulo/ |access-date=31 March 2025 |work=Bulatlat |date=30 January 2021}}</ref>

On September 16, 2008, employees of [Ayala Land](/source/Ayala_Land) planted trees at a site now under Nuvali. Ayala Land formally launched Nuvali in 2009 as a {{convert|17|km|mi|adj=mid|-long|sp=us}} [green development](/source/green_development) straddling three cities in [Laguna](/source/Laguna_(province)) – [Santa Rosa](/source/Santa_Rosa%2C_Laguna), [Calamba](/source/Calamba%2C_Laguna) and [Cabuyao](/source/Cabuyao).<ref name=became>{{cite news |last1=Lara |first1=Tanya |title=How Nuvali became Ayala Land's flagship eco-city |url=https://www.philstar.com/lifestyle/sunday-life/2019/09/29/1955711/how-nuvali-became-ayala-lands-flagship-eco-city |access-date=31 March 2025 |work=The Philippine Star |date=29 September 2019}}</ref> Nuvali is a collaboration between Ayala Land and the Yulo family.<ref>{{cite news |last1=Alcazaren |first1=Paulo |title=Nuvali lies at the crossroads of nature, nurture, health and wealth |url=https://www.philstar.com/lifestyle/sunday-life/2009/09/06/502256/nuvali-lies-crossroads-nature-nurture-health-and-wealth |access-date=31 March 2025 |work=The Philippine Star |date=6 September 2009}}</ref>
