The '''Nuora''' ({{langx|ru|Нуора}}; {{langx|sah|Нуора}}) is a river in the Sakha Republic ([Yakutia](/source/Yakutia)), [Russia](/source/Russia), a right tributary of the [Tumara](/source/Tumara), of the [Aldan](/source/Aldan_(river)) basin, part of the [Lena](/source/Lena_(river)) basin. It has a length of {{convert|110|km|mi}} and a [drainage basin](/source/drainage_basin) area of {{convert|3120|km2|mi2}}.<ref name=gvr>{{GVR|250234|Река Нуора}}</ref>

The Nuora flows across an area of the [Kobyaysky District](/source/Kobyaysky_District) that is wholly mountainous and desolate. [Segyan-Kyuyol](/source/Segyan-Kyuyol) village, the closest inhabited place, lies to the south of its confluence with the Tumara.<ref name="GЕ">[Google Earth](/source/Google_Earth)</ref> The river is a destination for [rafting](/source/rafting).<ref name=WR/>
The name of the river comes from the [Yakut language](/source/Yakut_language).<ref>Murzaev EM, ''Turkic place names'' / Baskakov NA . - Moscow: Eastern Literature RAS, 1996 .-- P. 149 .-- 254 p. - 500 copies.  - ISBN 5-02-016806-8 .</ref>
==Course==
The Nuora is a mountain river that originates south of the [Arctic Circle](/source/Arctic_Circle) near the [Arkachan Plateau](/source/Arkachan_Plateau), central part of the southern [Verkhoyansk Range](/source/Verkhoyansk_Range). In the uppermost stretch of its course the river flows southwards. As it meets the [Kelter Range](/source/Kelter_Range), it bends roughly southeastwards, flowing below the northeastern slopes of the range within a deep valley. Finally the Nuora meets the right bank of the [Tumara](/source/Tumara) River, a little upstream from where it cuts southwards across the Kelter Range, {{convert|146|km|mi}} from its mouth in the Aldan.<ref name=ONC>[https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Operational_Navigation_Chart_C-6,_3rd_edition.jpg 1,000,000 scale Operational Navigation Chart; Sheet C-6]</ref>

The Nuora has numerous tributaries that are longer than {{convert|10|km|mi|abbr=on}}. The longest are the {{convert|27|km|mi|abbr=on}} long [Kelter](/source/Kelter), the {{convert|34|km|mi|abbr=on}} long [Burgavli](/source/Burgavli) and the {{convert|34|km|mi|abbr=on}} long [Munilchan](/source/Munilchan) from the right and the {{convert|20|km|mi|abbr=on}} long Taal from the left.<ref name=gvr/><ref name=WR>[https://water-rf.ru/%D0%92%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B5_%D0%BE%D0%B1%D1%8A%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82%D1%8B/1913/%D0%A2%D1%83%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%B0 Tumara - Water of Russia]</ref><ref name="GЕ"/><ref>{{cite web|url=https://maps.vlasenko.net/smtm1000/q-51_52.jpg|title=Q-51_52 Topographic Chart (in Russian)|access-date=17 April 2022}}</ref>

==Fauna==
In the same manner as the upper course of the neighboring Tumara, the Nuora has fast-flowing clear waters fed by rain and snow. [Taimen](/source/Taimen), [lenok](/source/lenok), [whitefish](/source/Coregonus), [grayling](/source/Thymallus), [pike](/source/Esox), [ide](/source/Ide_(fish)) and [perch](/source/perch) are found in the waters of the river.
