**Numbersixvalverde** (born 1996) is an [Irish](/source/Republic_of_Ireland) [race horse](/source/Race_horse) who won both the 2005 [Irish Grand National](/source/Irish_Grand_National) and [2006 Aintree Grand National](/source/2006_Grand_National) [steeplechase](/source/Steeplechase_(horse_racing)), beating [Hedgehunter](/source/Hedgehunter) by six lengths with [Niall Madden](/source/Niall_Madden) in the saddle.[1]

Numbersixvalverde won his big races in the colours of owner, Bernard Caroll, who named the horse after his [holiday](/source/Holiday) home[2] in the [Algarve](/source/Algarve). The horse returned to Aintree to defend his title in [2007](/source/2007_Grand_National), finishing sixth but pulled up injured and never raced again, finally being retired in January 2009.
