'''Nuffield Place''' is a [country house](/source/country_house) near the village of [Nuffield](/source/Nuffield%2C_Oxfordshire)<ref>{{cite web| url=http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186360-d3315662-Reviews-Nuffield_Place-Henley_on_Thames_Oxfordshire_England.html | title=Nuffield Place | website=[TripAdvisor](/source/TripAdvisor) | location=UK | accessdate=29 August 2015 }}</ref> in the [Chiltern Hills](/source/Chiltern_Hills) in [South Oxfordshire](/source/South_Oxfordshire), [England](/source/England), just over {{convert|4|mi|km|0}} east of [Wallingford](/source/Wallingford%2C_Oxfordshire).

The house was completed in 1914. Sir [William Morris](/source/William_Morris%2C_1st_Viscount_Nuffield) (later created Viscount Nuffield) had it enlarged in 1933 and lived there until his death in 1963. Lord Nuffield was buried at Holy Trinity Parish Church in the village, and bequeathed Nuffield Place and its contents to [Nuffield College, Oxford](/source/Nuffield_College%2C_Oxford), as a museum. The college later gave the house and part of the estate to the [National Trust](/source/National_Trust).<ref>{{cite news|title=[National Trust Magazine](/source/National_Trust_Magazine) | date=Summer 2011 | pages=34–38 }}</ref><ref>{{cite news| url=https://www.independent.co.uk/property/interiors/the-original-morris-manor-nuffield-place-and-the-remarkable-history-of-its-gadgetobsessed-philanthropist-owner-8752606.html | title=The original Morris manor: Nuffield Place and the remarkable history of its gadget-obsessed philanthropist owner | newspaper=[The Independent](/source/The_Independent) | first=Matthew | last=Bell | date=11 August 2013 }}</ref><ref>{{cite news| url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/9200376/Sir-William-Morris-house-open-to-the-public.html | title=Sir William Morris' house open to the public | newspaper=[Daily Telegraph](/source/Daily_Telegraph) | first=David | last=Williams | date=19 April 2012 }}</ref>

Lord Nuffield was fond of clocks and his bedroom contains eight. His bedroom also has a miniature workshop, in a cupboard, containing a vice and metalworking tools, as well as a jar containing Lord Nuffield's own preserved appendix.{{Citation needed|date=July 2022}}
