# North Spit

**North Spit** ([62.20928°S 58.80225°W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=-62.20928_-58.80225)) is a rocky spit forming the north side of the entrance to [Marian Cove](/source/Marian_Cove), [King George Island](/source/King_George_Island_(Antarctica)), in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands). The descriptive name appears on a chart showing the results of a survey by [DI](/source/Discovery_Investigations) personnel on the *[Discovery II](/source/RRS_Discovery_II)* in 1935.
