**North Cotswolds** is a [constituency](/source/List_of_UK_Parliament_constituencies) of the [House of Commons](/source/House_of_Commons_of_the_United_Kingdom) in the [UK Parliament](/source/UK_Parliament).[2][3] Created as a result of the [2023 review of Westminster constituencies](/source/2023_review_of_Westminster_constituencies), it was first contested at the [2024 general election](/source/2024_United_Kingdom_general_election),[4] when it was won by [Conservative](/source/Conservative_Party_(UK)) [Geoffrey Clifton-Brown](/source/Geoffrey_Clifton-Brown), who had represented [Cirencester and Tewkesbury](/source/Cirencester_and_Tewkesbury) then [The Cotswolds](/source/The_Cotswolds_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) since 1992.

## Boundaries

The constituency was formed from a split of the former [Cotswolds](/source/The_Cotswolds_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) constituency, with the other half reformed as part of the new [South Cotswolds](/source/South_Cotswolds) constituency. The constituency is composed of the following wards (as they existed on 1 December 2020):

- The District of Cotswold wards of: Blockley; Bourton Vale; Bourton Village; Campden & Vale; Chedworth & Churn Valley; Coln Valley; Ermin; Fosseridge; Moreton East; Moreton West; Northleach; Sandywell; Stow; The Rissingtons.

- The District of Stroud wards of: Bisley; Hardwicke; Minchinhampton; Painswick & Upton.

- The Borough of Tewkesbury wards of: Badgeworth; Brockworth East; Brockworth West; Churchdown Brookfield with Hucclecote; Churchdown St. John’s; Shurdington.[5]

The seat covers northern parts of the [Cotswolds](/source/Cotswolds) [area of outstanding natural beauty](/source/Area_of_outstanding_natural_beauty). It comprises the following areas:[6]

- Just under half (by electorate) of the abolished constituency of [The Cotswolds](/source/The_Cotswolds_(UK_Parliament_constituency)), including the towns of [Chipping Campden](/source/Chipping_Campden), [Moreton-in-Marsh](/source/Moreton-in-Marsh), [Stow-on-the-Wold](/source/Stow-on-the-Wold), [Bourton-on-the-Water](/source/Bourton-on-the-Water) and [Minchinhampton](/source/Minchinhampton)

- Communities lying between Cheltenham and Gloucester, including [Badgeworth](/source/Badgeworth), [Brockworth](/source/Brockworth), [Churchdown](/source/Churchdown), [Coopers Edge](/source/Coopers_Edge) and [Shurdington](/source/Shurdington), transferred from [Tewkesbury](/source/Tewkesbury_(UK_Parliament_constituency))

- Northernmost parts of the [Stroud](/source/Stroud_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) constituency, including [Bisley](/source/Bisley%2C_Gloucestershire), [Hardwicke](/source/Hardwicke%2C_Stroud) and [Painswick](/source/Painswick)
