**Normal Country** ([Polish](/source/Polish_language): *Normalny Kraj*, **NK**) is a Polish [right-wing](/source/Right-wing_politics) [political party](/source/Political_party) founded in January 2015 as a result of a split in Association "Republicans". It was formally registered on 30 April 2015. Until 14 June 2015, it was known as **Republican Congress** ([Polish](/source/Polish_language): *Kongres Republikański*).

## History

The creation of Republican Congress was announced in January 2015 by members of Association "Republicans" (*Stowarzyszenie "Republikanie"*) dissatisfied with the leadership of [Przemysław Wipler](/source/Przemys%C5%82aw_Wipler), including [Tomasz Jaskóła](/source/Tomasz_Jask%C3%B3%C5%82a) (who soon left the Congress in favor of [Kukiz’15](/source/Kukiz'15)).[1] Krzysztof Fluder became its chairman.[2] During its first convention on 14 June 2015, it was renamed to Normal Country and former [Congress of the New Right](/source/Congress_of_the_New_Right) member Wiesław Lewicki became its new chairman.[3] The party also cut ties with the idea of [republicanism](/source/Republicanism), taking on an [anti-establishment](/source/Anti-establishment) and strongly right-wing bend. The former chairman Krzysztof Flunder founded a [centre-right](/source/Centre-right_politics) splinter party Republicans RP (*Republikanie RP*) which dissolved in 2017.[4]

Normal Country established cooperation with [Patriotic Poland](/source/Patriotic_Self-Defence) and [Organisation of the Polish Nation - Polish League](/source/Organisation_of_the_Polish_Nation_-_Polish_League).[5] In the [2019 Polish parliamentary election](/source/2019_Polish_parliamentary_election), the party fielded a [Senate](/source/Senate_of_Poland) candidate Wojciech Mateńka from Patriotic Poland in Lublin I constituency. He achieved 7.03% of the vote.[6] In the [2020 Polish presidential election](/source/2020_Polish_presidential_election), the party tried to field its chairman NK Wiesław Lewicki[7] but failed to collect enough signatures.

In the [2023 Polish parliamentary election](/source/2023_Polish_parliamentary_election), the party fielded [Sejm](/source/Sejm) lists in four constituencies and one candidate to the [Senate](/source/Senate_of_Poland). Its [Siedlce constituency](/source/Sejm_Constituency_no._18) list included members of the [Front](/source/Front_(Polish_party)) party with [Krzysztof Tołwiński](/source/Krzysztof_To%C5%82wi%C5%84ski) as the list leaders. It received 0.02% of the vote.[8] The Senate candidate achieved last place in his constituency with 1.27%.

In the [2024 Polish local elections](/source/2024_Polish_local_elections), the party registered lists to 10 [voivodeship sejmiks](/source/Voivodeship_sejmik),[9] eight [gmina](/source/Gmina) councils,[10] and a mayoral candidate in [gmina Wiżajny](/source/Gmina_Wi%C5%BCajny) (Józef Laskowski).[11] In sejmiks it received 0.6% of the nationwide vote with the highest support in [Greater Poland](/source/Greater_Poland_Voivodeship) (1.43%).[12] It did not receive any sejmik seats. However it obtained one seat in [gmina Kazanów](/source/Gmina_Kazan%C3%B3w) council.[13]

In the [2024 European Parliament election](/source/2024_European_Parliament_election_in_Poland), the party registered lists in five constituencies. Aside from Normal Country members and independents it included one [Silesians Together](/source/Silesians_Together) member and one [New Hope](/source/New_Hope_(Poland)) member.[14] The committee received 0.17% of the votes.[15]

## Platform

The parties supports simplifying administration, [self-determination](/source/Self-determination), increasing cooperation with [CEE](/source/Central_and_Eastern_Europe) and [Asian](/source/Asia) countries (particularly [China](/source/China)), independent judiciary, state-guaranteed medication access, reestablishment of teacher [seminaries](/source/Seminary), abolition of tests in education, natural farming, enfranchisement of Poles with natural resources, preference of native resources and technologies, diversifying native [energy sources](/source/Energy_development), improving demographics, [monetary sovereignty](/source/Monetary_sovereignty), ban on deficit spending, restrictions on foreign capital, income tax for all corporations, rebuilding of the [processing industry](/source/Process_manufacturing) and maintaining the role of [critical infrastructure](/source/Critical_infrastructure) and [army](/source/Military).[16]
