**Nonesis Nek Pass** is a [mountain pass](/source/Mountain_pass) in the [Eastern Cape](/source/Eastern_Cape) province of [South Africa](/source/South_Africa). It lies on the regional road [R396](/source/R396_(Eastern_Cape)) between [Lady Frere](/source/Lady_Frere) and [Queenstown](/source/Queenstown%2C_South_Africa). It takes its name from the [Thembu](/source/Thembu) leader Nonesi,[1] widow of [Ngubengcuka](/source/Ngubengcuka), who served as queen regent of the tribe after her husband's death.[2]
