The '''Noble M15''' is a [sports car](/source/sports_car) designed and developed by [Noble Automotive](/source/Noble_(car)), a high-performance sports car manufacturer based in [Leicestershire, England](/source/Leicestershire%2C_England).

Production of the M15 was due to begin in early 2006. The Noble M15 is intended to appeal to a far broader market than the [M12-GTO3R](/source/Noble_M12) or the [M400](/source/Noble_M400) and compete directly with the [Porsche 911 Turbo/GT-3](/source/Porsche_997) and [Ferrari F430](/source/Ferrari_F430). As a result, the Noble M15 has a number of features not previously found on Nobles such as [satellite navigation](/source/Satellite_navigation_system), [traction control](/source/traction_control_system), [electric windows](/source/Power_window) and [ABS](/source/Anti-lock_braking_system).

Noble founder [Lee Noble](/source/Lee_Noble) has been quoted in indicating "the M12 is a great car, but it's very focused and [he] wanted to produce a supercar people could use every day... It was time for Noble to take a big step up in terms of refinement, practicality and style."<ref>Lienert, Dan. [https://www.forbes.com/2006/04/17/british-noble-m15_cx_dl_0418vow.html "The New British Supercar".] [https://www.forbes.com/ ''Forbes''.] 2006-04-18. Retrieved 2016-01-16.</ref> Despite increased comfort and usability compared to previous Noble cars, Lee Noble has also stated that the M15 is significantly quicker than the M400 around a race track.

==Design==
The car is based on a brand new platform with a [longitudinally-mounted](/source/Longitudinal_engine) engine connected to a bespoke [gearbox](/source/gearbox) created by [Graziano](/source/Graziano_Trasmissioni). The [double wishbone suspension](/source/double_wishbone_suspension) is a development of the system mounted on the [M400](/source/Noble_M400). Mounting the engine longitudinally (rather than transversely as on the M400) allowed the engine designers to increase the cooling flow to the engine, which allows the {{convert|2967|cc|L CID|1|abbr=on|order=flip}} [twin-turbo](/source/twin-turbo) [Ford](/source/Ford_Motor_Company) [Duratec](/source/Duratec) [V6 engine](/source/V6_engine) to develop {{convert|455|bhp|kW PS|0|abbr=on}}. The engine has been designed to meet [European emission standards](/source/European_emission_standards) and the new [steel](/source/steel)/[aluminium](/source/aluminium) [space frame](/source/space_frame) has been designed with a view to passing [crash test](/source/crash_test) regulations around the world. The M15 is planned to be the first Noble which gains European and US [type approval](/source/type_approval).

Like all the Noble M models, the M15 has a steel spaceframe and [roll cage](/source/roll_cage) covered with [graphite-reinforced plastic](/source/Carbon_fiber_reinforced_plastic) body panelling, [ventilated disc brake](/source/ventilated_disc_brake)s front and rear, but unlike the previous models is designed to be more of a [grand tourer](/source/grand_tourer)/everyday sports car (an example of which would be the now-defunct [Honda NSX](/source/Honda_NSX)) rather than an all-out track day car.

The Noble M15 [accelerates](/source/Acceleration) from 0-{{convert|62|mi/h|km/h|abbr=on}} in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of {{convert|185|mi/h|km/h|abbr=on}}. Its body shape is a [coupé](/source/coup%C3%A9) and it has 2 seats. In Britain it costs £74,950.

When it appeared on the popular British car TV show [Top Gear](/source/Top_Gear_(2002_TV_series)), it was driven by [Richard Hammond](/source/Richard_Hammond) who praised its handling ("it just grips and grips, and then there's a tiny little bit of understeer to tell you you're being a bit of a spanner.") When it was handed over to Top Gear's 'tame racing driver', [The Stig](/source/The_Stig), it completed a lap of their circuit in 1:22.5, a time faster than a [Ferrari F430](/source/Ferrari_F430) (1:22.9), and an [Audi R8](/source/Audi_R8_(road_car)) (1:24.4). It was praised by [Jeremy Clarkson](/source/Jeremy_Clarkson), who called it "one of those Giant Killers."

The M15 was replaced by the [Noble M600](/source/Noble_M600) in mid-2011, when all production on the M15 stopped.

==Drivetrain==
This Noble M15 has a [longitudinally-mounted](/source/Longitudinal_engine) [rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout](/source/rear_mid-engine%2C_rear-wheel-drive_layout); chassis made of composite body steel [space frame](/source/Space_frame); [double wishbone suspension](/source/double_wishbone_suspension), [coil spring](/source/coil_spring)s, [gas pressurised](/source/Gas_pressure) [dampers](/source/Shock_absorber); [steering rack-and-pinion](/source/Rack_and_pinion), [power assisted](/source/Power_steering), [speed sensitive](/source/Steering); [ventilated disc brake](/source/ventilated_disc_brake)s all-round; weight {{cvt|2756|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}}; Length / Width / Height 4,270 mm (168.1 in) / 1,850 mm (72.8 in) / 1,116 mm (43.9 in); Wheelbase / Track (fr/r) 2,438 mm (96 in) / 1,594 mm (62.8 in) / 1,503 mm (59.2 in).<ref name="ultimate">{{cite web|url=https://www.ultimatecarpage.com/spec/2752/Noble-M15.html|website=ultimatecarpage.com|title=2006 Noble M15 specifications|accessdate=June 21, 2018}}</ref>

===Engine===
The Noble M15 has a [twin-turbo](/source/twin-turbo) {{convert|2967|cc|L CID|1|abbr=on|order=flip}} [Ford Duratec V6](/source/Ford_Duratec_V6_engine) which produces {{cvt|455|bhp|PS kW|0|abbr=on}} at 6800 rpm and {{cvt|455|lbft|Nm|0|abbr=on}} at 4800 rpm of [torque](/source/Torque), can accelerate it from 0-{{convert|60|mph|km/h|0|abbr=on}} in 3.3 seconds and is capable of a top speed of {{convert|185|mph|km/h|0|abbr=on}}.<ref name="ultimate"/>

===Transmission===
The car has a 6-speed [manual transmission](/source/manual_transmission) as standard.<ref name="ultimate"/>
