**Nimay Ndolo** (born 21 August 1994, as **Obumneme-Ekenechi Yadi Ndolo**), is an American writer, actress and online personality. She was named one of [*Rolling Stone*'s](/source/Rolling_Stone) top influencers of 2024 and one of the [*Webby Awards*](/source/Webby_Awards) and [*Time*](/source/Time_(magazine)) Magazine's top influencers of 2025.[1][2][3]

## Early life and education

Ndolo was born in [Memphis, Tennessee](/source/Memphis%2C_Tennessee) into a family of three children, to parents of Nigerian [Igbo](/source/Igbo_people) descent, who immigrated from [Enugu, Nigeria](/source/Enugu%2C_Nigeria) to the United States. She attended [Douglas County High School](/source/Douglas_County_High_School_(Douglasville%2C_Georgia)) and began writing at the age of 13, influenced by [*High School Musical 2*](/source/High_School_Musical_2) and [*West Side Story*](/source/West_Side_Story).[4][5] She studied [theatre](/source/Theatre) and [film](/source/Film) at [Georgia State University](/source/Georgia_State_University), but did not graduate.[6]

## Career

Before beginning her [software development](/source/Software_development) and [content creation](/source/Content_creation) career, Ndolo worked as a delivery driver for [Uber Eats](/source/Uber_Eats) and briefly as a [freight broker](/source/Freight_broker) at [TQL](/source/Total_Quality_Logistics). After being fired during the 2020 [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic), she taught herself [web development](/source/Web_development), learning CSS, HTML, and JavaScript, and completing [General Assembly](/source/General_Assembly_(school))'s frontend development bootcamp, later becoming a [front end developer](/source/Front_End_Development) for a [startup company](/source/Startup_company).[7][8]

In 2021, she began posting on [TikTok](/source/TikTok) while still working as a software developer until 2023 when she began working as an influencer full time.
