**Nimali Perera** (born 13 December 1990) is a Sri Lankan [cricket umpire](/source/Cricket_umpire).[1] She is currently a member of [Development Panel of ICC Umpires](/source/Development_Panel_of_ICC_Umpires).[2][3] She was one of the female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the [2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup](/source/2023_ICC_Women's_T20_World_Cup).[4][5] Perera played for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club in domestic cricket.[6]

## Career

In July 2022, she was added to the [ICC's Development panel](/source/Development_Panel_of_ICC_Umpires) for the first time.[7] She was the first female umpire from Sri Lanka to feature in a T20 World Cup.[8] She officiated in [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) matches in the Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament in 2022 and she stood in her first List A match on 19 July 2022, between [Panadura](/source/Panadura_Sports_Club) and [Kandy](/source/Kandy_Customs_Sports_Club).[9][10]

She stood as an umpire in her first [Women's Twenty20 International](/source/Women's_Twenty20_International) (WT20I) in the [2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup](/source/2022_Women's_Twenty20_Asia_Cup), in the game between [Malaysia](/source/Malaysia_women's_national_cricket_team) and [Pakistan](/source/Pakistan_women's_national_cricket_team) on 2 October 2022.[11] She also officiate in the semi-final match between [India](/source/India_women's_national_cricket_team) and [Australia](/source/Australia_women's_national_cricket_team) of 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, along with New Zealand's [Kim Cotton](/source/Kim_Cotton).[12] She stood in her first [Women's One Day International](/source/Women's_One_Day_International) (WODI) between [Sri Lanka](/source/Sri_Lanka_women's_national_cricket_team) and [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh_women's_national_cricket_team) on 29 April 2023, when [Bangladesh tour to Sri Lanka](/source/Bangladesh_women's_cricket_team_in_Sri_Lanka_in_2023).[13]

In September 2024 she was named as part of an all-female officiating group for the [2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup](/source/2024_ICC_Women's_T20_World_Cup).[14]
