# Nils Jansen

**Nils Jansen** (born 30 March 1959 in [Haugesund](/source/Haugesund), Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone and clarinet), known from several recordings and jazz orchestras.[1]

## Career

Jansen attended the Jazz program at [Trondheim Musikkonservatorium](/source/Norges_Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige_Universitet) (1995–98), and joined band like Ellipse, [Per Husby Quintet](/source/Per_Husby), "Trondheim Big Band" and [Søyr](/source/S%C3%B8yr). After moving to Oslo, he has played within orchestras like "Radiostorbandet", med [Espen Rud Sextet](/source/Espen_Rud), [Trygve Seim Ensemble](/source/Trygve_Seim), [Magni Wentzel Sextet](/source/Magni_Wentzel), "Sharp 9", and musicians like [Christina Bjordal](/source/Christina_Bjordal), [Staffan William-Olsson](/source/Staffan_William-Olsson) and [Håkon Storm](/source/H%C3%A5kon_Storm).[1]

Jansen and [Espen Rud](/source/Espen_Rud) has had a number of performances with the show *Jazzmask* for [Rikskonsertene](/source/Rikskonsertene).[2]
