**Nilphamari-3** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). [Obaidullah Salafi](/source/Obaidullah_Salafi) is the current member of Parliament.

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Jaldhaka Upazila](/source/Jaldhaka_Upazila).[1]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from a Rangpur constituency when the former Rangpur District was split into five districts: [Nilphamari](/source/Nilphamari_District), [Lalmonirhat](/source/Lalmonirhat_District), [Rangpur](/source/Rangpur_District), [Kurigram](/source/Kurigram_District), and [Gaibandha](/source/Gaibandha_District).

Ahead of the [2018 general election](/source/2018_Bangladeshi_general_election), the Election Commission altered the boundaries of the constituency. Previously it included three [union parishads](/source/Union_parishad) of [Kishoreganj Upazila](/source/Kishoreganj_Upazila): Barabhita, Putimari, and Ranachandi.[2][3]
