**Nikos Papandreou** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Νίκος Παπανδρέου; born 29 September 1956) is a Greek politician, businessman, cultural commentator and writer. He has been serving as a [Member of the European Parliament](/source/Member_of_the_European_Parliament) for [PASOK](/source/PASOK) since May 2023,[1] as he replaced MEP [Nikos Androulakis](/source/Nikos_Androulakis) who resigned in order to run in the [2023 Greek legislative election](/source/May_2023_Greek_legislative_election).[2]

## Family

Papandreou is a son of former [Prime Minister of Greece](/source/Prime_Minister_of_Greece) [Andreas Papandreou](/source/Andreas_Papandreou) and his second wife [Margaret Chant-Papandreou](/source/Margaret_Chant-Papandreou) and younger brother of [George Papandreou](/source/George_Papandreou).[3]
