Beckwith grew-up in [Newburyport, Massachusetts](/source/Newburyport%2C_Massachusetts).<ref name="wicked"/> From age 16, she attended the [Sudbury Valley School](/source/Sudbury_Valley_School) in [Framingham, Massachusetts](/source/Framingham%2C_Massachusetts).<ref name="wicked"/> In 2004, she became the youngest recipient of The Johnson Award for excellence in and contributions to the arts in the [Merrimack Valley](/source/Merrimack_Valley).
