**Nicolas Clausells** is a French [wheelchair rugby league](/source/Wheelchair_rugby_league) player who currently plays for [Catalans Dragons](/source/Catalans_Dragons_Wheelchair) in [Elite One Championship](/source/Elite_1_(wheelchair_rugby_league)) and the [France national wheelchair rugby league team](/source/France_national_wheelchair_rugby_league_team).

## Career

### Club

Nicolas Clausells has been a playing for [Catalans Dragons](/source/Catalans_Dragons_Wheelchair) since around 2011 and has been a key player in multiple successful Elite One Championship campaigns with the club. In 2023, Clausells helped Catalans to win the inaugural [European Club Challenge](/source/European_Club_Challenge) against UK champions [Halifax](/source/Halifax_Panthers_Wheelchair) scoring twice in a 32–32 draw resulted in a shared title.[2] A few months later he scored five tries and eight goals helping Catalans secure their first [Challenge Cup](/source/Wheelchair_Challenge_Cup), with the club making their debut the UK competition the season prior.[3] Catalans retained the Challenge Cup in 2024, beating Wigan 81–18 in the final, scoring three tries and kicking for goals.[4][5]

### International

Nicolas Clausells began representing [France](/source/France_national_wheelchair_rugby_league_team) before the [2013 Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup](/source/2013_Wheelchair_Rugby_League_World_Cup), he was selected for the tournament in which France won.[6] He was selected again for the [2017 tournament](/source/2017_Wheelchair_Rugby_League_World_Cup) which saw him score a hatrick in the final.[7] Clausells was again a key player in the [2021 tournament](/source/2021_Wheelchair_Rugby_League_World_Cup) making team of the tournament,[8] though France finished as runners-up to [England](/source/England_national_wheelchair_rugby_league_team) this time out.[9] In the 2024 internationals, Clausells scored 28 points in France's 32–28 over England after coming off the bench around the 30th minute.[10]

Clausells is the nephew of fellow France and Catalans teammate [Gilles Clausells](/source/Gilles_Clausells).[11]
