**Nico Mikael Ruponen** (born 3 February 1989) is a Swedish [badminton](/source/Badminton) player.[2][3] In 2012, he won the [Kharkiv International](/source/Kharkiv_International_(badminton)) in the mixed doubles event partnered with [Amanda Högström](/source/Amanda_H%C3%B6gstr%C3%B6m).[4] In 2016, he and [Richard Eidestedt](/source/Richard_Eidestedt) had to battle through the qualification round at the [Orleans International](/source/Orleans_International) tournament before reach the finals, finally they won the men's doubles title after beat [Hardianto](/source/Hardianto) and [Haryanto](/source/Kenas_Adi_Haryanto) of Indonesia.[5] He also became the runner-up at the [2016 Canada Open Grand Prix](/source/2016_Canada_Open_Grand_Prix) tournament in the mixed doubles event with Högström.[6]
