# Nicky Travis

**Nicolas Vaughan Travis** (born 12 March 1988) is an English [football](/source/Association_football) player and coach.

## Career

Born in [Sheffield](/source/Sheffield), [South Yorkshire](/source/South_Yorkshire), Travis was signed by [Chesterfield](/source/Chesterfield_F.C.) on [loan](/source/Loan_(association_football)) in August 2007 until 31 December.[1] He returned to [Sheffield United](/source/Sheffield_United_F.C.) in October, after suffering knee and ankle injuries.[2]

In May 2009, with his contract about to expire, he agreed a [free transfer](/source/Free_transfer_(football)) to Australian [A-League](/source/A-League) side [Central Coast Mariners](/source/Central_Coast_Mariners_FC) following a successful trial.[3] He scored his first goal for the Mariners in a match against league leaders Gold Coast United in a 3–0 win. Nicky Returned to Europe playing with A.S.D Siracusa (Italy)
