'''Nickolay Lamm''' is a graphic artist and researcher. His work is regularly featured in ''[The Huffington Post](/source/The_Huffington_Post)''.<ref name="huffpost">{{cite news|url=http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/05/normal-barbie-kickstarter-nickolay-lamm-lammily-doll_n_4826502.html|title='Normal Barbie' Crowdfunding Campaign Could Bring Gorgeous, Realistic Dolls To A Kid Near You|work=[The Huffington Post](/source/The_Huffington_Post)|accessdate=10 May 2014}}</ref> Articles based on his work have also appeared in ''[The Atlantic](/source/The_Atlantic)'' and ''[the Los Angeles Times](/source/the_Los_Angeles_Times)''.

Lamm's work most frequently involves speculative illustration, such as renditions of possible hybrid animals in the Arctic (based upon an article in ''[Nature](/source/Nature_(journal))''), or an attempt to visualize Wi-Fi signals.<ref name="Lecher">{{cite web|url=https://www.popsci.com/technology/article/2013-07/heres-what-wi-fi-would-look-if-we-could-see-it|title=Here's What Wi-Fi Might Look Like If We Could See It|last=Lecher|first=Colin|date=30 July 2013|work=[Popular Science](/source/Popular_Science)|accessdate=10 May 2014}}</ref>

Lamm is best known for his work which realistically depicts human bodies, an undertaking he calls the ''Body Measurement Project''. From this project came his idea for "[Lammily](/source/Lammily)", a doll that purports to provide a more realistic body image for young girls than does [Barbie](/source/Barbie).<ref name="Matthews">{{cite news|url=https://www.elle.com/news/culture/lammily-real-barbie-nickolay-lamm|title=Meet Nickolay Lamm - Barbies, Lammily|last=Matthews|first=Natalie|work=[Elle](/source/Elle_(magazine))|accessdate=10 May 2014}}</ref><ref name="Lee">{{cite news|url=https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2014/03/06/average-barbie-lammily-doll/6113875/|title=Watch out Barbie: Average body Lammily doll is coming|last=Lee|first=Jolie|date=7 March 2014|work=[USA Today](/source/USA_Today)|accessdate=8 March 2014}}</ref>
