He was also solo director of the 2016 documentary *[Black Code](/source/Black_Code_(film))*.[4] He won a [Genie Award](/source/Genie_Award) in 2007, alongside Baichwal, [Gerry Flahive](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gerry_Flahive&action=edit&redlink=1), [Daniel Iron](/source/Daniel_Iron) and [Peter Starr](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Peter_Starr&action=edit&redlink=1) for *[Manufactured Landscapes](/source/Manufactured_Landscapes)* and a [Canadian Screen Award](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award) in 2011 alongside Baichwal, Iron and [Edward Burtynsky](/source/Edward_Burtynsky) for *[Watermark](/source/Watermark_(2013_film))*,[5] and was an [Emmy Award](/source/Emmy_Award) nominee for Outstanding Nature Programming in 2010 for "The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies", an episode of *[Nova](/source/Nova_(American_TV_series))*.
