# Newstead, Kentucky

**Newstead** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area#United_States) in [Christian County](/source/Christian_County,_Kentucky), in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Kentucky](/source/Kentucky).[1]

## History

Newstead had its start when the railroad was extended to that point.[2] A post office called Newstead was established in 1847, and remained in operation until 1906.[3]
