# New Atlantic

'*New Atlantic**are a British [electronic dance music](/source/Electronic_dance_music) [duo](/source/Musical_ensemble) from [Southport](/source/Southport), [Merseyside](/source/Merseyside), consisting of Richard Lloyd (born 6 February 1973) and Cameron Saunders (born 11 June 1973). They are best known for the UK [hit single](/source/Hit_single) "I Know" which reached No. 12 in March 1992.[1] The [CD](/source/Compact_disc) [single](/source/Single_(music)) of "I Know" contained an alternate [mix](/source/Remix), which was performed by the group onstage on the UK [television programme](/source/Television_program),*****[The Hitman and Her](/source/The_Hitman_and_Her)*. New Atlantic were signed to [Liverpool](/source/Liverpool)'s [3 Beat Records](/source/3_Beat_Records), which in turn signed the track to [Pete Waterman](/source/Pete_Waterman)'s [PWL Records](/source/PWL_Records); a remix was done by [Love Decade](/source/Love_Decade), which became the most recognizable version. "I Know" also crossed over to the United States, where it reached number 15 on*[Billboard](/source/Billboard_(magazine))**s [Hot Dance Club Play chart](/source/Hot_Dance_Club_Songs) in June 1992, where it was released on [Tommy Boy Records](/source/Tommy_Boy_Records). "I Know" would later be sampled by [Chase & Status](/source/Chase_%26_Status) on their 2013 single "[Count on Me](/source/Count_on_Me_(Chase_%26_Status_song))".

New Atlantic also [produced](/source/Record_producer) [Berri](/source/Berri_(singer))'s [top 5](/source/Top_40) UK hit, a dance version of [Elkie Brooks](/source/Elkie_Brooks)' "[Sunshine After the Rain](/source/Sunshine_After_the_Rain#Berri_version)". The duo released a number of other records (including the UK No. 70 chart hit "Into the Future")[1] and an [album](/source/Album).

Saunders is now part of the [DJ](/source/Disc_jockey) production group [the Young Punx](/source/The_Young_Punx).
