At the 2011 census, the village had a population of 627 people.<ref>Popis stanovništva, domaćinstava i Stanova 2002. Knjiga 1: Nacionalna ili etnička pripadnost po naseljima. The village was active in the [Serbian Revolution](/source/Serbian_Revolution), being organized into the ''[knežina](/source/kne%C5%BEina_(Ottoman_Serbia))'' (administrative unit) of [Brusnica (Takovo)](/source/Gornji_Milanovac) during the [First Serbian Uprising](/source/First_Serbian_Uprising) (1804–13).
