# Nelson Goerner

**Nelson Goerner** (born 9 May 1969) is an Argentine classical pianist.[1]

He studied with Jorge Garrubba, Juan Carlos Arabian, and Carmen Scalcione. In 1986, he won First Prize at the Franz Liszt Competition in Buenos Aires, which led to a scholarship to study with [Maria Tipo](/source/Maria_Tipo) at the [Conservatoire de Musique de Genève](/source/Conservatoire_de_Musique_de_Gen%C3%A8ve). In 1990, he won the [Geneva International Music Competition](/source/Geneva_International_Music_Competition).[2]
