# Nelson Bobb

**Nelson S. "Nitzy" Bobb** (February 25, 1924 – December 8, 2003) was an American [basketball](/source/Basketball) player.

Born and raised in [Philadelphia](/source/Philadelphia), he played collegiately for hometown [Temple University](/source/Temple_University).

He was selected by the [Philadelphia Warriors](/source/Philadelphia_Warriors) in the [1949 BAA draft](/source/1949_BAA_draft) and the [Syracuse Nationals](/source/Syracuse_Nationals) in the 1949 NBL draft.

He played for the Warriors (1949–53) in the [National Basketball Association](/source/National_Basketball_Association) (NBA) for 227 games.

Bobb died December 8, 2003, of cancer in [Irvine, California](/source/Irvine,_California).
