Maxwell played for [Canterbury](/source/Canterbury_Wizards), [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales_cricket_team) and [Victoria](/source/Victoria_cricket_team) cricket teams in the 1990s. He played for [Fiji](/source/Fijian_cricket_team) in the [1990 ICC Trophy](/source/1990_ICC_Trophy) in the Netherlands. He is currently the player agent for star cricketers [Brett Lee](/source/Brett_Lee) and [Michael Hussey](/source/Michael_Hussey), as well as formerly [Adam Gilchrist](/source/Adam_Gilchrist).

Maxwell is the CEO for the marketing firm Insite Organisation and was formerly the CEO for the [Indian Premier League](/source/Indian_Premier_League) franchise, the [Kings XI Punjab](/source/Kings_XI_Punjab).
