# Negomir

**Negomir** is a commune in [Gorj County](/source/Gorj_County), [Oltenia](/source/Oltenia), [Romania](/source/Romania). It is composed of ten villages: Artanu, Bohorel, Condeiești, Negomir, Nucetu, Orzu, Paltinu, Raci, Ursoaia, and Valea Racilor.

The commune lies on the [Getic Plateau](/source/Getic_Plateau), at an altitude of 225 m (738 ft), on the banks of the river [Jilțul Mic](/source/Jil%C8%9Bul_Mic). It is located in the southwestern part of Gorj County, 25 km (16 mi) east of the city of [Motru](/source/Motru) and 33 km (21 mi) southwest of the county seat, [Târgu Jiu](/source/T%C3%A2rgu_Jiu). Negomir borders the following localities: [Fărcășești](/source/F%C4%83rc%C4%83%C8%99e%C8%99ti) commune to the north and east; [Urdari](/source/Urdari) commune and the town of [Turceni](/source/Turceni) to the east; [Borăscu](/source/Bor%C4%83scu) commune to the south; [Mătăsari](/source/M%C4%83t%C4%83sari) commune to the north-west; and [Drăgotești](/source/Dr%C4%83gote%C8%99ti,_Gorj) and [Bolboși](/source/Bolbo%C8%99i) communes to the west.
