It is a spin-off from the television series *[Reacher](/source/Reacher_(TV_series))*, starring [Maria Sten](/source/Maria_Sten) who reprises her role of Frances Neagley, alongside [Greyston Holt](/source/Greyston_Holt), Jasper Jones, [Adeline Rudolph](/source/Adeline_Rudolph), [Matthew Del Negro](/source/Matthew_Del_Negro), and [Damon Herriman](/source/Damon_Herriman).

## Premise

Neagley seeks the truth after an old friend dies in a suspicious accident.[1]

### Development

The series received a series order from [Amazon Prime Video](/source/Amazon_Prime_Video) in October 2024.[2]

Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton developed, are executive producers, and co-showrunners of the series, which is produced by [Amazon MGM Studios](/source/Amazon_MGM_Studios) and [Skydance Television](/source/Skydance_Television), along with [CBS Studios](/source/CBS_Studios). The series is also executive-produced by [Lee Child](/source/Lee_Child), Don Granger, and Lisa Kussner with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Matt Thunell, Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid, and Niko Fernandez.[3]

By August 2025, [Paramount Television Studios](/source/Paramount_Television_Studios) had taken over production of the series following the merger of Skydance Television's parent company [Skydance Media](/source/Skydance_Media) with CBS Studios' parent [Paramount Global](/source/Paramount_Global) into [Paramount Skydance](/source/Paramount_Skydance).[4]

### Writing

Sten was excited to delve into Neagley's life since she couldn't do so in *[Reacher](/source/Reacher_(TV_series))*: "Neagley has a lot going on in her life. She has a history, and she has a life lived. She has some quite severe personal issues of her own that she's grappling with…I'm just thrilled to get going and sink my teeth in".[5]

### Casting

Sten reprises her role of Frances Neagley from *Reacher* with [Alan Ritchson](/source/Alan_Ritchson) appearing as [Jack Reacher](/source/Jack_Reacher) in a guest starring role.[3] In February 2025, [Greyston Holt](/source/Greyston_Holt), Jasper Jones, [Adeline Rudolph](/source/Adeline_Rudolph), [Matthew Del Negro](/source/Matthew_Del_Negro) and [Damon Herriman](/source/Damon_Herriman) were cast as series regulars.[6]

### Filming
