Lake on Titan

Neagh Lacus False-color Cassini radar image of hydrocarbon lakes on Titan (2006), showing Neagh Lacus in the middle distance, on the right margin. Feature type Lacus Coordinates 81°07′N 32°10′W / 81.11°N 32.16°W / 81.11; -32.16 Diameter 98 km[note 1] Eponym Lake Neagh

**Neagh Lacus** is one of a number of [hydrocarbon lakes](/source/Lakes_of_Titan) found on Saturn's largest moon, [Titan](/source/Titan_(moon)). The lake is composed of [liquid](/source/Liquid) [methane](/source/Methane) and [ethane](/source/Ethane),[1] and was detected by the *[Cassini](/source/Cassini%E2%80%93Huygens)* [space probe](/source/Space_craft).

The lacus is located at coordinates 81.11°[N](/source/North) and 32.16°[W](/source/West) on Titan's [globe](/source/Globe),[2] in a region close to the north pole where most of Titan's lakes are located. The lake is 98 [km](/source/Kilometre) in length[note 1] and is named after [Lough Neagh](/source/Lough_Neagh), in [Northern Ireland](/source/Northern_Ireland).[2]
