Born in [Oliveira](/source/Oliveira%2C_Minas_Gerais), [Minas Gerais](/source/Minas_Gerais), Nathan joined [Atlético Mineiro](/source/Clube_Atl%C3%A9tico_Mineiro)'s youth setup in 2011, aged 13.
