The **Nass Ranges** are a [mountain range](/source/Mountain_range) north of the [Skeena River](/source/Skeena_River), west of [Hazelton](/source/Hazelton%2C_British_Columbia), and northeast of [Terrace, British Columbia](/source/Terrace%2C_British_Columbia), Canada. It is a subrange of the [Hazelton Mountains](/source/Hazelton_Mountains), which in turn form part of the [Interior Mountains](/source/Interior_Mountains).[1]

## Volcanic eruption

The Nass Ranges contain an active volcano called [Tseax Cone](/source/Tseax_Cone); its [volcanic gases](/source/Volcanic_gas) are said to have killed of 2,000 [Nisga'a](/source/Nisga'a) people in an 18th-century eruption.
