Narsingdi-3 Constituency for the Jatiya Sangsad District Narsingdi District Division Dhaka Division Electorate 284,248 (2026) Current constituency Created 1984 Parliamentary Party Bangladesh Nationalist Party Member of Parliament Manzur Elahi ← 200 Narsingdi-2 202 Narsingdi-4 →

**Narsingdi-3** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). Since 6 August 2024, the constituency remains vacant.

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Shibpur Upazila](/source/Shibpur_Upazila), integrating the area under a single administrative and electoral boundary.[1]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from a Dhaka constituency when the former Dhaka District was split into six districts: [Manikganj](/source/Manikganj_District), [Munshiganj](/source/Munshiganj_District), [Dhaka](/source/Dhaka_District), [Gazipur](/source/Gazipur_District), [Narsingdi](/source/Narsingdi_District), and [Narayanganj](/source/Narayanganj_District).

Ahead of the [2008 general election](/source/2008_Bangladeshi_general_election), the [Election Commission](/source/Bangladesh_Election_Commission) redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the [2001 Bangladesh census](/source/2001_Bangladesh_census).[2] The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.[3]

Ahead of the [2014 general election](/source/2014_Bangladeshi_general_election), the Election Commission reduced the boundaries of the constituency. Previously it had included three [union parishads](/source/Union_parishad) of [Raipura Upazila](/source/Raipura_Upazila): Daukar Char, Marjal, Uttar Bakharnagar.[4][1][5]
