'''Naro Moru''' is a small [market town](/source/market_town) in [Nyeri County](/source/Nyeri_County) in central [Kenya](/source/Kenya), lying on the [Naromoru River](/source/Naro_Moru_River), between [Nyeri](/source/Nyeri) and [Nanyuki](/source/Nanyuki). It is 21.8&nbsp;km to Nanyuki town. Its main industry is [tourism](/source/tourism), as a base for [hiker](/source/hiker)s ascending [Mount Kenya](/source/Mount_Kenya) to its east. It has several hotels and holiday tour organizers that bring groups of tourists. [Solio Game Reserve](/source/Solio_Ranch) lies near the town. The town was previously the center of the former [https://www.nyeri.go.ke/know-your-sub-county-kieni-east-sub-county/ Kieni East District]. The town has an elevation of around 2200 metres and has a [tropical savannah climate](/source/Tropical_savanna_climate) with a [winter dry season](/source/dry_season). There are [farms](/source/farm) growing [vegetables](/source/vegetable) such as [peas](/source/pea), [chillies](/source/Chili_pepper), and [safflowers](/source/Safflower) (which are pressed for [oil](/source/oil)), as well as the [eucalyptus](/source/eucalyptus). [Livestock](/source/Livestock) farming includes [cattle](/source/cattle), [chickens](/source/chicken), and [ostriches](/source/Ostrich). 

Naro Moru has several educational institutions, including girls' and boys' [secondary schools](/source/Secondary_school), a Roman Catholic secondary school, and [primary schools](/source/primary_school). There is also a home for children with disabilities (at Mung'etho shopping centre), and a private mixed primary school.
