**Naghan District** ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): بخش ناغان) is in [Kiar County](/source/Kiar_County), [Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari](/source/Chaharmahal_and_Bakhtiari_province) province, [Iran](/source/Iran). Its capital is the city of [Naghan](/source/Naghan).[3]

## History

In 2007, [Kiar District](/source/Kiar_District) of [Shahrekord County](/source/Shahrekord_County), and [Mashayekh](/source/Mashayekh_Rural_District_(Kiar_County)) and [Naghan](/source/Naghan_Rural_District) Rural Districts, and the city of [Naghan](/source/Naghan), were separated from [Ardal County](/source/Ardal_County) in the establishment of [Kiar County](/source/Kiar_County), which was divided into two districts and five rural districts, with the city of [Shalamzar](/source/Shalamzar) as its capital.[3]

## Demographics

### Population

At the time of the 2011 National Census, the district's population was 15,507 people in 3,955 households.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 15,957 inhabitants living in 4,695 households.[4]
