# Nabajug

***Nabajug*** (Bengali: নবযুগ) was a Bengali-language daily newspaper published from 1920 to 1944.[1]

## History

The newspaper was founded in [Kolkata](/source/Kolkata) on 12 July 1920 by [A. K. Fazlul Huq](/source/A._K._Fazlul_Huq).[1] The first editors were [Kazi Nazrul Islam](/source/Kazi_Nazrul_Islam) and [Muzaffar Ahmed](/source/Muzaffar_Ahmed_(politician)).[1] The newspaper opposed the appointment of Nirmalabala Shome to the education service when male applicants were available.[2]
