This 97.5 kilometer long river is a left tributary of the [Danube](/source/Danube). Its average [discharge](/source/discharge_(hydrology)) at the [mouth](/source/River_mouth) is {{cvt|49|m3/s}}.<ref name="DE-BY_GV" />{{GeoSource|Danube||12}}

The Naab is formed by the confluence of the [Waldnaab](/source/Waldnaab) and the [Haidenaab](/source/Haidenaab) in [Luhe-Wildenau](/source/Luhe-Wildenau), south of [Weiden in der Oberpfalz](/source/Weiden_in_der_Oberpfalz). It flows generally south, through the towns [Nabburg](/source/Nabburg), [Schwandorf](/source/Schwandorf) and [Burglengenfeld](/source/Burglengenfeld). It flows into the [Danube](/source/Danube) near [Regensburg](/source/Regensburg).
