**N3RD Street** (also **N3rd Street**, **N3RD St**, **Nerd Street**) is a nickname for a segment of **North 3rd Street** in [Philadelphia](/source/Philadelphia), [Pennsylvania](/source/Pennsylvania), United States, between [Market Street](/source/Market_Street_(Philadelphia)) and [Girard Avenue](/source/Girard_Avenue) (spanning across the neighborhoods of [Old City](/source/Old_City%2C_Philadelphia) and [Northern Liberties](/source/Northern_Liberties%2C_Philadelphia)), and its surrounding community that is home to a concentration of ["nerdy"](/source/Nerd#Pride) companies and spaces; "N3RD" is a [double entendre](/source/Double_entendre) as both [leet](/source/Leet) for "nerd" and reflecting the "N. 3rd St." of [postal addresses](/source/Address_(geography)).

An official resolution recognizing N3RD Street was written by [Indy Hall](/source/Indy_Hall) founder Alex Hillman and adopted by Philadelphia's city council on March 20, 2014.[1] Starting April 10, 2014, the city installed special street signs along the corridor denoting its nickname, similar to the neighborhood-specific signs on the [Avenue of the Arts](/source/Avenue_of_the_Arts_(Philadelphia)), [Avenue of Technology](/source/Avenue_of_Technology_(Philadelphia)), [Mummers Row](/source/Mummers_Parade#2nd_Street), [Fabric Row](/source/Fabric_Row_(Philadelphia)), [French Quarter](/source/French_Quarter%2C_Philadelphia), [Chinatown](/source/Chinatown%2C_Philadelphia), and the [Gayborhood](/source/Washington_Square_West%2C_Philadelphia#The_Gayborhood).[2]

The official city naming ceremony took place on April 11, 2014, at Liberty Lands Park.[3]
