The **My Homeland Egypt Party** is an Egyptian political party composed of "diehards" from the Hosni Mubarak-era [National Democratic Party](/source/National_Democratic_Party_(Egypt)).[1]

## Overview

The party, an independent popular movement, was formed in December 2013.[4] Although [Murad Muwafi](/source/Murad_Muwafi) was considered for the presidency of the party,[5] Ahmed Gamal El Din was ultimately selected.[1] The organization behind the party, called the Misr Baladi Front, supported [Abdel Fattah el-Sisi](/source/Abdel_Fattah_el-Sisi) in the [2014 presidential race](/source/2014_Egyptian_presidential_election).[6] [Mostafa Bakry](/source/Mostafa_Bakry), a party member, stated in July 2014 that the organization was preparing its lists for the [2015 Egyptian parliamentary election](/source/2015_Egyptian_parliamentary_election).[7] The party was one of the founding members of the [Egyptian Front](/source/Egyptian_Front), which was launched in August 2014.[8] The party won three seats in the election.
