The party's lead candidate for the [Senate](/source/Australian_Senate) in [Western Australia](/source/Western_Australia) at the [2014 special election](/source/Australian_Senate_special_election_in_Western_Australia%2C_2014) was [Anthony Fels](/source/Anthony_Fels), who has been a [Liberal](/source/Liberal_Party_of_Australia) (and later independent) member of the [Western Australian Legislative Council](/source/Western_Australian_Legislative_Council), and an independent and [Katter's Australian Party](/source/Katter's_Australian_Party) Senate candidate at the [2010](/source/2010_Australian_federal_election) and [2013 federal elections](/source/2013_Australian_federal_election), respectively.<ref>Rex Drabik (1 April 2014).
