The **Mustersan** age is a period of [geologic time](/source/Geologic_time) (48.0–42.0 [Ma](/source/Mya_(unit))) within the [Eocene](/source/Eocene) epoch of the [Paleogene](/source/Paleogene), used more specifically within the [South American land mammal age](/source/South_American_land_mammal_age) (SALMA) classification. It follows the [Casamayoran](/source/Casamayoran) and precedes the [Divisaderan](/source/Divisaderan) age.[1][2]

## Etymology

This age is named after [Lake Musters](/source/Lake_Musters) in the [Golfo San Jorge Basin](/source/Golfo_San_Jorge_Basin).
