'''''Musgravea''''' is a genus of rainforest tree from northeastern [Queensland](/source/Queensland).

It was published in 1890 by [Ferdinand von Mueller](/source/Ferdinand_von_Mueller), and named in honour of Sir [Anthony Musgrave](/source/Anthony_Musgrave), [Governor of Queensland](/source/Governor_of_Queensland) from 1883 to 1888. Together with its closest relative ''[Austromuellera](/source/Austromuellera)'', it lies within the subtribe [Musgraveinae](/source/Musgraveinae) of tribe [Banksieae](/source/Banksieae) in the subfamily [Grevilleoideae](/source/Grevilleoideae) of family [Proteaceae](/source/Proteaceae). After ''Austromuellera'', its closest relative is ''[Banksia](/source/Banksia)''.<ref name="Hyland 1999">{{cite encyclopedia | last = Hyland | first = B. P. There are two species, ''[M. stenostachya](/source/Musgravea_stenostachya)'' (crater silky oak) and ''[M. heterophylla](/source/Musgravea_heterophylla)'' (briar silky oak). ''M. stenostachya'' is the [type species](/source/type_species) for the genus; it was published by Mueller at the same time as the genus. ''M. heterophylla'' was published in 1969 by [Lindsay Stuart Smith](/source/Lindsay_Stuart_Smith).<ref name="Hyland 1999"/>
