**Murmu** is a surname indicating a particular clan (*paris*) of the [Santals](/source/Santal_people) found in [India](/source/India), [Nepal](/source/Nepal), [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh) and [Bhutan](/source/Bhutan).[1] The Kol tribe also bears the surname Murmu.
