'''Munktorp''' is a [locality](/source/urban_areas_of_Sweden) situated in [Köping Municipality](/source/K%C3%B6ping_Municipality), [Västmanland County](/source/V%C3%A4stmanland_County), [Sweden](/source/Sweden) with 455 inhabitants in 2010.<ref name=scb />

Munktorp is the site of the historic Munktorp Church (''Munktorps kyrka'').  The church is associated with [St. David of Munktorp](/source/David_of_Munktorp) (''David av Munktorp''), an [Anglo-Saxon](/source/Anglo-Saxon) monk of the 11th century. The oldest parts of the church date back to his lifetime. Munktorp Church is seventy metres long, with a triple [nave](/source/nave) and high [tower](/source/tower). The church contains  a medieval [font](/source/baptismal_font) beaten from bronze and an ancient southern door made of oak. The [ambo](/source/Ambon_(liturgy)), a pulpit that also serves as a [lectern](/source/lectern), is incorporated into a [pillar](/source/Column).
